House Inspectors

IMPORTANT:  Mike Rickles does not receive any form of incentives from any of these inspectors.  Even if you hear Mike say who he likes best or who former clients have used...it is still YOUR DECISION who you choose.

Please keep in mind that inspectors are a lot like general practitioner doctors - they know a lot about many things and can normally catch the average problems, but, they are not necessarily experts in anything pertaining to the "health" of your house.  They are human and may overlook something (just like doctors).  Real life examples from my personal experiences include instances where there was a bat infestation in the attic that was overlooked by the inspector.  Another instance is when a house had fleas and the inspector didn't know.  In each case, the inspector told the prospective home owners about the obvious things: condition of the HVAC, whether or not the wet area wall outlets were GFCI protected, whether there were obvious structural issues or not.  Do not expect a House Inspector to catch everything!  If you want specialty inspections such as pests, stucko, roof or structural inspections call someone that is a specialist in that particular field and get the inspection done before closing!  Alabama is a Caveat Emptor state meaning Let the Buyer Beware.  You are buying every house AFTER your time of discovery then IT IS YOURS AS IS.
